I often take breaks from my 'as totems' series to do something not as repetitive, so I was wondering if you all would like to help pick out my next project:

Poll #1316477 The next art project...
Open to: All, detailed results viewable to: All, participants: 72

What should Pia work on when she's not doing the 'as totems' series?

I received the most lovely and unexpected item in the mail the other day by the very awesome [info]azhure, a very talented jewellery maker and photographer. I've used her photo of the necklace, because it is much better than my photos of jewellery tend to be, and you can see it under the cut:

Squee! )

The necklace is called The Moon's Voice (and features two of my few favourite stones; labradorite and moonstone), and I highly, highly recommend that you check out her other jewellery - almost all of which has spiritual and/or pagan significance - here:

Sorscha Azhure Designs

I am very lucky. :) This weekend has mostly been very crap, and looking at this necklace (and wearing it!) has been one of the few high/peaceful/happy points. Hehehe.

I remember when I first started on LiveJournal and I didn't think anyone but Mel and Kim and Glen (because I made him join) would friend me. And it sort of struck me, today, that there are over one hundred different individual people reading this - maybe not all of them reading, I'm sure most are 'scanners', but you know, there's more people reading this than I'm friends with in real life. And of course I'm reading (and alternatively 'scanning') their lives too.

HOLY CRAP!
HOLY MOTHER OF CRAP!

On that note, it's time to go to bed.

Rest in peace, Smokey.
You've had a great 16 years, and a beautiful life.
And there's a hole in my heart and in the hearts of others you touched, which will stand testimony to the amazing, strong, wonderful character that you were.

We let you go at 2.15pm, but you'll be in my heart forever. We buried you by the fennel, surrounded by kangaroo paws, under the light of a glorious Summer day. My most handsome man, my one-eyed tiger, my lynx, my Smokey-cat. My birthday and Christmas won't be the same without you...

Though I will say this, you old coot, your timing is impressive. :)

I love you, Smokey.
My only familiar.
My brother.
My oldest friend.

'Man, sometimes I wish I had a penis. Life would be so much easier.'

Yeah. The grass is always greener on the other side. I really don't think I want a penis. But whipping out the penis (envy) was amusing to both of us while we walked the bush-tracks.
